Scotia Challenge

Scotia Challenge

The Scotia Challenge is a season long event for our club members, and has been in operation since 2005. The challenge task is to visit, on your classic motorcycle/s, a series of up to 45 checkpoints, spread throughout the length and breadth of Scotland. Points are awarded for each checkpoint secured, verified by a photograph of bike and checkpoint. Trophies are awarded based on the number of checkpoints achieved and the age of the youngest motorcycle used in the challenge. Over time, awards have become more challenging, and the coveted Platinum Award, introduced in 2019, is awarded to those who complete all 45 checkpoints on a motorcycle (or motorcycles) of at least 40 years old. Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are available if you achieve fewer checkpoints or are riding a more modern machine.

As a means of encouraging members to get out and use their bikes, the Scotia Challenge has been a resounding success. It’s worthwhile joining the Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club for that alone! The awards are presented at our Christmas social.

A previous checkpoint list is included as an example only – make sure you have the current year’s list before you start!
