Membership
Membership fees are £10 for the year (payment for the year ahead is due in January). This includes 12 issues of our digital newsletter, The Banter, which is emailed to paid-up members each month. While you can pay your membership dues in cash at a club night, setting up a standing order makes life much easier for all concerned.
If you would like to join us, or renew your membership, please complete the Membership Form and either bring it along to one or our club nights or events, or (even better) email it to the SCMC Treasurer. Please be patient if you don’t get an immediate reply – we are a small club and the person dealing with your request may be away somewhere on his or her bike. The membership year runs from January to December.
Members also benefit from our Tool Loan Scheme. There are a range of tools including a carb-balancer, timing strobe, carb-tune and a chain splitter. A club trailer is also available for members to hire, free of charge.
The Scotia Challenge is our premier, season long, event for members. An entry fee is charged which pays for your award at the end of the challenge.
Here’s another member benefit: Peter James Insurance “Our 30 years as a leading insurer for Classic, Veteran, Vintage and Modern Cars, Motorcycles and Specialist Vehicles enable us to provide an unrivalled service with cover to suit your member’s specific requirements. We are steeped in the Classic Vehicle movement and were among the first to introduce Agreed Value, Multi Vehicle, Limited Mileage with Breakdown Recovery and Motor Legal Expenses as standard. Contact us first for your Quotation on 0121 506 6040. We are the enthusiast’s Insurance Broker and we’re always here to help.”
All paid up members of the Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club receive a copy of the Scottish Vintage Vehicle Federation Year Book in the post in January/February. This contains listings of club events throughout Scotland. If you have not received your copy, or if you joined during the year, you can also access the Year Book online.
Like all clubs, you will get out of it what you put in, and we are always looking for energetic new members who can help to make things happen! Don’t just sit there – get involved!
We look forward to meeting you and checking out your classic bike/s.
